Skincare made in the spirit of old traditions, guided by nature and crafted by hand.

I come from a line of gardeners — my dad, and his dad before him — people who worked with plants, soil and seasons as part of everyday life.

I wasn't lucky enough to meet my grandpa, but the stories of him and the way he worked shaped the world I grew up in. Some of my earliest memories are of being in the garden with my dad, asking endless questions, following him from bed to bed, and eating the neighbour’s raspberries through the fence. All these years later, not much has changed, apart from the now lack of raspberries...

My grandma was the other half of that inheritance. She too lived through a different era and carried the old ways with her: knitting, sewing, cooking, mending, making do. I was young when she passed, but the memory of her kitchen and the way she made things has stayed with me always.

Old Earth Botanica is my way of honouring both sides of that lineage and bringing those values into the craft of botanical skincare inspired by our Great British Countryside.

Old Earth for the traditions and skills my grandma lived by. Botanica for the gardeners who came before me.

The Botanica Bees

The wax used in our soaps and solid moisturiser bars (and the honey in our From The Hive soap) come from Rob’s hives in Burston, Norfolk.

His bees spend the warmer months among chamomile, thyme, oregano, phacelia, woodland blooms, wildflowers, and, this year, clover too.

You can see more of Rob & the bees on their Instagram/Facebook.
